USC comes to Autzen for what looked like a huge matchup earlier in the season, but the stakes are much higher for Oregon. The night game atmosphere and the fact that Oregon is playing for the heights of the postseason made the Ducks dig for something bold. Not as dramatic as a blackout/ninja that fans were hoping for though. (I can see why: 2011, #3 ranked Ducks in ninja all black got beat at Autzen and ruined the natty chance)
This black-yellow-black combo is being worn for the 7th time, and the first time since 2021, and seemingly the first time vs USC. This look was more common in the Chip Kelly years.
Looking back at this heated rivalry, only the last 30 years of it have been competitive, coinciding with the mid 1990s Phil Night-led Nike rejuvenation of the Duck facilities, uniforms and marketing of Oregon. That paired with a bit of a dry spell for USC in the 1990s before Pete Carroll made USC hugely relevant in the 2000s, but ironically only beat Oregon half his games.
According to Winsipedia, Oregon has gone 12-7 in the games played since 1993. But from 1915-1993, Oregon only went 10-32-2!

I thought it might be nice to look back at some of the more interesting modern USC-UO games and what the Ducks wore:
1998: the first of 4 straight Oregon wins, and last of the old-school uniforms
1999: The first year of the Nike-redesign uniforms and second home game in a row.
2000: first win in LA since 1994 and last till 2010.
2005: Lost to #1 USC and Reggie Bush
2009: Halloween night win at Autzen on road to 2010 Rose Bowl
2011: USC plays spoiler to Ninja Natty dreams
2012: #2 Oregon scores 62 points in LA. Keyon Barner runs for 5 TDs
2015: Vernon Adams Angry Duck wins
2016: Stormtrooper loss
2019: Lots of yellow in a win
2020: Victory in the Pac-12 Championship game
